XiVE awarded US patent

09-10-2007 | The outstanding properties in the interaction of condensing thread design and bone-specific preparation protocol were the deciding factors: the DENTSPLY Friadent XiVE implant system has now been awarded a US patent from the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Advanced primary stability in all bone classes
“With the unique, bone-condensing thread and the flexible surgical preparation protocol of the XiVE system the implantologist can achieve the ideal primary stability even in soft bone,“ states DENTSPLY Friadent Marketing Director Birgit Dillmann, and she adds that “the degree of bone condensation and the placement torques can be accurately controlled during insertion of XiVE by the depth of the final crestal drilling and optional thread cutting.“ The system demonstrates its advantages even in hard cortical bone with the apically self-tapping thread making the placement secure and atraumatic.

Other highlights: XiVE 3.0 and XiVE TempBase
XiVE 3.0 is the smallest two component implant in the world. It makes implant placement possible even in very narrow gaps. But XiVE offers even more advantages: the premounted TempBase on the implant enables immediate implant restoration under favorable conditions with a firmly-seated, esthetically attractive temporary denture. It is the optimum solution for patients who have an active life and want to have their smile restored as quickly as possible.
