The New Implant Package

04-18-2008 | Easy implant removal and maximum security in every stage of handling – this is the new DENTSPLY Friadent package for ANKYLOS, XiVE and FRIALIT implants and FRIOS product for augmentation, which will be progressively introduced starting in May 2008.

A redesigned implant holder, the "implant shuttle,“ makes it easy for the assistant to transfer the implant to the implantologist during the operation without touching the implant itself. The special, easy-to-handle plastic holder, into which the implant fits perfectly, not only protects it but also prevents contamination. The ergonomical design of the shuttle makes it easy for the implantologist to remove the implant with the insertion instrument.

The plastic shuttle is sealed in double-sterilized blister packs. The double-sterile blister packaging offers users maximum safety in every phase of treatment and it also conforms to the increasingly rigid regulations for packaging medical devices.

Outer package for easy storage

DENTSPLY Friadent has also redesigned the outer package to simplify storage of implants. All relevant information such as implant brand, size and diameter are printed on three sides of the box. The packages can be stacked horizontally or vertically – the information always remains visible.

The design of the packaging is now eye-catching: the color of the implant is shown against a white background, such as turquoise for ANKYLOS or red for XiVE. The color-coding shows what implant system it is at the first glance. Surgical and prosthetic components and also instruments will also have new packaging in future.
