Esthetic results and easy handling even in the narrowest gaps
08-20-2008 | An implant designed precisely for this challenge: XiVE 3.0 mm in the XiVE implant system by DENTSPLY Friadent
"A problem that we encounter again and again in the dental practice: a patient with a very narrow gap in the visible region tat is too small even for a 3.4 mm implant. DENTSPLY Friadent offers the perfect solution for exactly such cases. XiVE 3.0 mm, one of the smallest implants in the world with a deep internal hex connection gives us the tools to meet this type of challenge with ease. We can close the narrowest gaps in the incisor region with excellent esthetic results," states Dr. Bayer of the implantology practice in Landsberg am Lech. "The system has impressed us with its outstanding primary stability, even in soft bone. XiVE 3.0 takes full advantage of the available bone volume and is retained in any bone quality," adds his partner Dr. Kistler.
The two-component XiVE 3.0 for optimum individuality
The customizable XiVE 3.0 abutments offer the greatest possible flexibility in prosthetics, even with this small diameter.
In spite of the very small diameter, XiVE 3.0 offers the advantageous properties of a two-component implant design. Single-component implant designs must be ground in the mouth, but the two-component XiVE 3.0 can be easily customized on the master cast. This makes the procedure much easier for the surgeon. The dental technician has additional flexibility in selecting a suitable prosthetic abutment and can select the right abutment to fit the actual emergence profile.
As with all other XiVE implants, XiVE 3.0 implants also have the deep internal connection for optimum stability between abutment and implant. A particularly important factor in every implant placement is the primary stability. With XiVE implants the surgeon can rely fully on the achievable primary stability, even in unfavorable bone quality. The patented interaction between the implant thread design and the bone-specific preparation protocol ensures that the required primary stability can be achieved during preparation of the implant site in all bone qualities.
TempBase concept for immediate restoration in the esthetic region
An immediate provisional restoration is highly desirable particularly in the visible front-tooth region. The challenge for a provisional restoration is that the appearance must be virtually identical to the subsequent prosthesis, because the patient wants to be able to smile without anxiety even with the provisional restoration.
This is why the TempBase is premounted on the XiVE 3.0 and all other XiVE implants. It acts as a provisional abutment on which the temporary restoration can be prepared without changing parts. With this system an immediate restoration with a high quality provisional denture can be offered quickly and easily in many cases. At the same time it provides effective bone training right from the start. Studies confirm that osseointegration is promoted by controlled application of loading to the implant immediately after placement. The immediate restoration also eliminates the second surgical procedure to uncover the implant. In contrast, with submerged healing the index registration can be done immediately after implant placement with the TempBase cap. During the healing phase a high-quality, precisely fitted provisional denture can be prepared in the laboratory and delivered immediately after uncovery of the implant.
