DENTSPLY Friadent celebrates the 110th birthday of DENTSPLY International

06-23-2009 | DENTSPLY Friadent, a subsidiary of DENTSPLY International, celebrated the 110th anniversary of the founding of the Dentists' Supply Company on June 23, 2009.

On this date in 1899 the company's founders established the company that was later renamed DENTSPLY in 1969. Today, 110 years later, DENTSPLY is the leading company in the world dental market and manufactures and markets products in 120 countries with more than 9000 employees.
DENTSPLY products meet the requirements of customers and their teeth in every stage of life. Dr. Werner Groll, managing director of the implant subsidiary of DENTSPLY, DENTSPLY Friadent, refers to the parent company as a "one-stop shop": "Whether you are interested in prevention, endodontics, restorative dentistry, prosthetics or implantology – DENTSPLY has products for all specialty fields of dentistry." This combination offers many advantages for customers. "The addition of Materialise Dental, the market leader in simulation software for dental implantology, in the company family means that we now have significant expertise in 3D planning software. The recently acquired E.S. Healthcare now gives us expertise in the area of the manufacture of CAD/CAM-milled bars and bridges." The new XiVE guided surgery instruments and CAD/CAM superstructures that have been developed based on this technology were presented to the world at IDS 2009.
