14th DENTSPLY Friadent World Symposium 2010 in Barcelona

About 3000 delegates from all over the world are expected in Barcelona on March 19 and 20, 2010, in Barcelona for the 14th DENTSPLY Friadent World Symposium. After  record number of visitors in 2008, the congress is now one of the most important congresses for exchanging ideas and experience in dental implantology anywhere in the world. Almost 100 presenters – experts from all over the world – will guide delegates through the congress, which once again will be run under the slogan "Focus on your practice success". The 14th DENTSPLY Friadent World Symposium will also be offering supervised practical workshops, parallel forums on the latest scientific trends and insights and a strong focus on interdisciplinary topics.

Valuable presentations on all important aspects of the implantology practice
A sustainably successful practice has many facets: safe and clinically successful treatment solutions are as much a part of it as the knowledge of practical innovations or the continuing development of implantology. The scientific program will cover the above and many other items. The Proven Applications and New Approaches forum, for example, focuses on practical therapy concepts and the best treatment solutions. Experienced practitioners will be presenting basic rules and innovative procedures for daily work derived from clinical cases – from planning through surgery to the finished prosthetic restoration.

The Today’s Progress for Tomorrow’s Practice forum will provide lecturers from the research world valuable insights into current studies, trends for the future and scientifically confirmed developments that are driving progress in implantology. Combined keynote lectures and expert discussions will combine the two major topics and will enable participation at the same time from all forums. The topic of interdisciplinary cooperation will play a more important role than ever. The separate disciplines are connected by interfaces to periodontics, endodontics or comprehensive dental technical restorations.

The program will be completed by international Lunch & Learn Summits, the Start-up Plenum for young lecturers and short lectures by poster presenters – and also by the new practical Hands-on Workshops, in which participants will be given the opportunity of improving their practical skills in hard tissue or soft-tissue surgery or also in guided surgery in small groups.

Poster Gallery – a place for colleagues to participate in experience and success
The DENTSPLY Friadent Poster Gallery, which will be available throughout the entire congress, will be a forum for presentation of scientific results and clinical cases. In cooperation with the European Journal of Oral Implantology (EJOI) DENTSPLY Friadent will be offering two scientific poster awards in Barcelona, along with additional prizes for the best poster of a case report and the best student poster. The winners will be presenting a short lecture in the auditorium (Poster Award), and will receive 1000 euros prize money (student poster award) or an invitation to attend the ADA Congress 2010 in the USA free of charge (scientific poster awards). Delegates will also have the opportunity to talk to product experts at the DENTSPLY Friadent Marketplace and test all DENTSPLY Friadent product innovations "live". Exhibitors from other dental disciplines will also be present. In addition, the stepps instruments will be presented – for successful practice marketing and practice management.

Exciting evening program at the Magic Fountain
After the congress day all delegates are invited to join friends and colleagues at one of the most notable attractions of the city of Barcelona to celebrate an unforgettable evening. They will be met by an exciting range of culinary specialities and a lively party mood on the grounds of the 1929 World Fair at the Magic Fountain at the foot of Montjuic.
