Ideal lighting conditions in the oral cavity

DENTSPLY Friadent has extended the range of clinically proven surgical instruments for implant placement and augmentation and has made the FRIOS handpiece and the contra-angle handpiece even easier to use. The new FRIOS SI-11 LED G handpieces and WI-75 LED G contra-angle handpieces are fitted with an LED light, which not only provides brilliant lighting for the dark oral cavity with daylight-like lighting conditions but also has an integrated generator to eliminate the requirement for a separate power supply.

Ideal lighting conditions make work easier
Bright lighting and evenly distributed illumination in the dark oral cavity are essential for relaxing and accurate work. Optimum lighting makes the dentist's work much easier and is a major factor in achieving a highly esthetic treatment result. The LEDs on the new handpieces and contra-angle handpieces illuminate the oral cavity with optimum lighting quality and intensity and provide perfect conditions for a seamless treatment sequence. The light intensity of 5000 to 31,000 lux corresponds to daylight quality and the resulting lighting conditions, which are ideal for the human eye, enable high-contrast viewing, support the natural visual acuity of the practitioner and do not fatigue the eyes unnecessarily. Even the smallest structures are clearly visible without straining.

High level of flexibility and power
An integrated generator in the new handpieces and contra-angle handpieces ensures perfect lighting conditions without requiring an additional power supply. The integrated power supply also allows the LED light to be placed directly at the light outlet source. This is the only way to allow the LED light to operate at full power and provide the best light quality.

Ease of use
Practitioners not only benefit from the optimum illumination properties of the new LED lights but also from the well-known ease of use of the handpieces and contra-angle handpieces. With a longer service life than conventional halogen lights the LEDs are very durable. They are resistant to vibration and are long-lived, durable light sources that generate virtually no heat or damaging IR and UVA radiation. They can be sterilised at temperatures up to 135 degrees Celsius and can be thermally disinfected. The new FRIOS SI-11 LED G handpieces and WI-75 LED G contra-angle handpieces are compatible with motors with ISO couplings (DIN 13940).
