Christmas Donation to Mercy Ships

12-16-2011 | Again, for the third time, DENTSPLY Friadent is donating 15,000 euros for the poorest of the poor

Again this year, DENTSPLY Friadent is donating 15,000 euros to the international aid organization, Mercy Ships. With this, the company is also contributing to the medical aid given to the impoverished people of West Africa on the world's largest charity hospital ship.

As in the two previous years, DENTSPLY Friadent is once again supporting the remarkable work of the international aid organization, Mercy Ships, with this year's Christmas donation. One of the ships that brings aid is the “Africa Mercy”, the largest privately operated hospital ship in the world. With its crew of over 400 volunteers from all over the world, this ship provides dental and medical care for the destitute people of West Africa.

Since 1978, the Mercy Ships have visited over 70 waterfronts across the world. Together, committed personnel from over 50 nations use their various qualifications to help people who have no or only limited access to medical help. With its hospital ships and an international staff and crew, Mercy Ships delivers the highest quality medical aid. It provides ongoing development assistance and delivers relief supplies in the world's poorest regions. Teams and projects in the interior of the country complement the work of the ships.
